Headaches are one of the most common symptoms of all and can have various causes. Everyday things like dehydration, irregular meals or too little sleep sometimes lead to headaches. Hormonal fluctuations, such as during menstruation, can also cause headaches. There are also specific types of headaches such as migraine or the particularly debilitating cluster headaches.

The most common form is tension headache. This is often caused by stress, tension in the neck and shoulder region or prolonged and sedentary work at a computer. The pain is mostly dull and heavy and can affect the whole head. The pain can vary from mild to moderate and can significantly impair the sufferer's ability to concentrate and perform at work or in everyday life. Paracetamol axicur® relieves headaches as well as tension headaches, enabling those affected to better carry out their daily tasks.

Genuine flu (influenza), but also other viral infections are very common, particularly in the cold season, and are often accompanied by various symptoms. In addition to a runny nose and cough, people often suffer from fever, headache and limb pain, and general malaise.

Fever is the body's natural response to infection: when viruses enter the body, the immune system activates various defence mechanisms. This releases messenger substances called prostaglandins, which affect the temperature regulating centre in the brain and lead to fever. At the same time, these messengers also trigger the typical accompanying symptoms such as headache and limb pain. The body deliberately increases its temperature to make it more difficult for the virus to multiply and to strengthen the immune system. Paracetamol axicur® is a proven painkiller that is also used to reduce fever.

The short-term use and appropriate dosage of the painkillers depend on the age and body weight of the patients. Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have instructed you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

In addition to taking Paracetamol axicur^® for headache, limb pain and fever, patients can also use home remedies. All of following measures can help to get rid of cold and flu infections faster and relieve the symptoms:

• Drink enough fluid: when you have a fever, your body also loses fluid due to increased sweating. When you have flu or a cold it is therefore particularly important to ensure that you drink plenty of fluids, preferably in the form of water or unsweetened herbal teas. This helps the body to recover and supports the immune system. At least 2–3 litres per day is recommended.
• Rest and relaxation: sufficient sleep and physical rest are crucial for a quick recovery. The body needs energy to fight against viruses. If you do not rest for long enough, you risk spreading the infection.
• Cooling a fever: a cooling leg compress or a cool damp cloth on the forehead can provide additional relief and help lower body temperature in high fever.
